Everything you need at the table
Each roll gives you a passport-style ID card with name, age, nationality, place of birth and occupation, then a full file underneath: looks, personality, relationships, habits, fears, tastes, skills and invented social media handles. Choose Sketch under Detail for a quick NPC, or Full file for someone who'll stick around.
Lock the traits you like and re-roll the rest. Roll 6, 9 or 12 at once for a crowded room. Or describe who you need in a sentence, such as “a nervous Russian smuggler in his forties”, and InkBorn fills in the rest around your details.
Set the story year and names follow the fashions of the decade each NPC was born, so a 1970s campaign doesn't fill up with Jaydens.

Is the NPC generator free?
Yes. Rolling NPCs is free with no sign-up and no limit. Only the AI features (describing a character in a sentence and drafting a backstory) have a fair-use limit of 15 a day.
Does it work for fantasy settings?
InkBorn's names and traits come from 22 real countries and the decades people were born in, so it suits modern, historical, urban fantasy, horror and near-future games. It doesn't generate elves, dwarves or invented-world names.
Can I keep my NPCs between sessions?
Save any NPC to your cast and it stays in your browser. Export one file or a whole batch to Word or Markdown for your session notes.
How do I make a whole tavern of NPCs?
Choose 6, 9 or 12 under How many and roll. You get a contact sheet of mini ID cards; open any of them to see the full file.
